Which plan is right for you

A GTIN (your product’s barcode number) doesn’t care which plan issued it — the code works the same everywhere. The plans differ in domain, features, and how many products you’re managing.

You’re testing the idea, or you have a handful of SKUs
Go with Free covers 3 products on a shared domain — enough to print a real, scannable code and see it work before spending anything.
You’re shipping product and want it on your own domain
Go with Starter this is where id.yourbrand.com and the recall link type turn on — the plan most small brands land on.
You track batches or lot numbers, or run more than 25 products
Go with Growth adds batch/lot codes with expiry dates and full analytics — useful the day you need to point one specific lot to a recall page.

GS1 DataMatrix is the small square barcode used on tiny packaging where a QR code won’t fit — both point to the same destination.

We count scans. We never track scanners.

Every plan works this way, Free through Growth: we log that a code was scanned, never who scanned it — no cookies, no IP addresses stored, no per-scan record tied to a person. It’s not a Growth-tier feature; it’s how the resolver is built.

About "2027"

Sunrise 2027 is a voluntary retailer-side target for 2D barcodes at checkout — not a law, and nobody is required to switch by then for general merchandise. Every plan here is "2027-ready": your code keeps working at today’s UPC scanners and tomorrow’s 2D scanners, so there’s no rush and no deadline to react to.

Questions worth asking before you pay for anything

Do I actually need this?
Not urgently. If you already have a working UPC barcode, it still scans everywhere today. Codestamp is for when you want that same code to also open a web page — nutrition info, a recall notice, care instructions — without printing a second barcode.
What if I cancel?
Your GTINs (product barcode numbers) belong to you — they come from GS1, not from us. Printed codes keep resolving in read-only mode for 12 months after you cancel, so packaging already on shelves doesn’t break. After that, point your domain’s DNS wherever you like.
What if Codestamp shuts down?
If you’re on your own domain (Starter or Growth), the codes are yours and the domain is yours — you’d repoint DNS to a new resolver and keep the printed packaging working. That’s the reason the custom domain exists in the first place.
Is this GS1-certified?
There’s no such thing — GS1 conformance is self-asserted by the company issuing the code, including us. What we offer is a Verify report that checks your code against the GS1 Digital Link syntax, so you can see the result yourself rather than take our word for it.
What happens if I outgrow my plan?
You’ll see it coming — we show your product count against your limit, and the upgrade prompt names the plan and price you’d need, not just a paywall. No surprise charges either way: upgrades and downgrades take effect through your billing portal, not automatically.

How we use cookies

We use a small analytics tool to see which pages and features get used, so we know what to fix and build next. If you came here from an ad, saying yes also lets us tell that platform your signup happened. We never sell this data or use it to track you across other sites — and you can change your mind anytime.
